Why is our eCom Testing team the next step for you?

In this role, you’ll lead and manage the Automation test function for our biggest eCom payment gateway. You’ll make sure the Agile teams can efficiently produce automated tests and support the infrastructure allowing this, and you’ll be a mentor to both junior and senior team members, working closely with the Test Manager to ensure release testing is reliable and robust on an ongoing basis.

How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

You’ll be our test automation SME and evangelise best test automation practices across teams. You’ll line manage a team of testers, including setting objectives and priorities, and lead a team of Release Testers and Test Administrators, ensuring their testing, pastoral and training needs are met. Part of this role is also mentoring other test team members on test automation, and proactively identify improvements and enhancements to our automation framework.

In this role you’ll manage and update the Regression packs and automated tests. You’ll take overall responsibility of all test automation activities, support and maintain test automation framework with respect to implementation of new features, existing features or bug fixes, and be involved in recruitment activities.

What will make you the ideal candidate?

You’ll have previous experience working as a Test Automation Engineer, with strong experience in Java, Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber/ jBehave. You’ll have experience within an Agile development environment and practical experience with BDD and TDD. We’re looking for someone with previous line management or Team Lead experience, with great coaching and mentoring skills.

Experience with SQL and Linux administration skills are also important to have. You’ll have prior process improvement experience when it comes to reviewing existing automation procedures and systems, and you’ll be able to interpret testing requirements using a variety of artefacts, including stories, wireframes and physical, logical, sequence & ERD diagrams where necessary.
