|Why is our Scheme Fees Manager the next step for you?
Scheme fees are determined by the card schemes (Visa / MasterCard etc) however these can be complex in nature with many factors impacting the applicable fee. These factors can be the country of card issuance, country of the retailer, transaction method etc. Additionally these fees and associated rules are frequently updated. This has a consequential impact to our processes and in this role you will be a key part in controlling these changes and processes by working cross-functionally and using your analytical skills.
How will you add value on a day to day basis?
Within this role you will become a subject matter expert on all Scheme related charges including interchange and network fees. You will be involved in updating the relevant teams such as sales, marketing, pricing and finance on developments, creation and provision of Fee related analytics. Capturing and analysing data through running queries in SQL you will look to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives contributing towards achievement of business objectives. Collaborating on a cross functional basis to understand the impact of changes, you will ensure all documentation is updated for decision making purposes, investigating, where necessary, anomalies and incomplete information. You will also partner with technology so updates are captured and be responsible for the smooth running of month end activities. Finally you’ll assist in overseeing the financial control processes. This is a great chance to lead on analysis to find the root cause of variances; and identify and implement mitigating actions.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
The team is looking for driven new colleague with a positive approach to teamwork. You come from an analytical role and have experience with writing code in SQL and creating models in Excel. This role is all about initiating process improvements, so you enjoy problem solving and can present the solutions effectively to internal stakeholders as well as clients with great communication skills. Ideally you will have built up scheme fee knowledge in the payment industry – if not, we would really like you to be curious to expand your knowledge and be keen to understand the payment ecosystem.
