Why is our Scheme Fee SQL Analyst within Scheme Fees right for you?
Scheme fees are determined by the card schemes (Visa / MasterCard etc) however these can be complex in nature with many factors impacting the applicable fee i.e. country of card issuance, country of the retailer, transaction method etc. Additionally these fees (and associated rules) are frequently updated having a consequential impact to our processes. You will be involved in updating the relevant Technology, Sales and Finance teams on these developments, providing related analytics and supporting month end reporting.
What will you be doing on a day to day basis?
Through the application of logical thought, data review/testing and your developing appreciation of the Scheme Fee space, your scope will touch on all processes impacted by associated updates and changes. Capturing and analysing data through running queries in SQL you will look to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives contributing towards achievement of business objectives. Specifically linked to our new acquiring platform (NAP) you will review outputs, resolve issues and facilitate better decision making.
Collaborating on a cross functional basis to understand the impact of changes, you will ensure all documentation is updated for decision making purposes, investigating, where necessary, anomalies and incomplete information. Evaluating the requirements of mandatory scheme changes you will make recommendations that ensure compliance and scheme dates are met.
What will make you right for this role?
You will be analytically minded and comfortable reviewing data sets through writing and running queries in SQL. Whilst “Scheme Fee” knowledge is NOT required, a willingness to learn together with an aptitude for technology platforms will be key. A team player with great communication skills, resourceful, independent and self-motivated are great attributes in this environment.
